Speak in haste and repent in leisure

I read an article from my iPhone Today application and came across this phrase.

Post on haste and repent in leisure.

What it basically means is that, many people these days tend to post some comments online without thinking twice, be it on Facebook or Twitters or Friendster (if you guys still remember there is such a social networking site). They did not think of the consequences of these comments until when something really happens.

The only time they ever thought about the comments posted are when they are really thinking in their free time.

It applies the same when speaking with anyone. Always think twice before blurting it out. In this way, you will never regret. Some comments might be worth a million bucks and cheer people up while others hurts and damage others' reputations.

Afterall, some things are still best to be kept mum.
